Sixteen-year-old half-brazilian Lillian Campos and her best friend Sophia are the United Five’s biggest fans, but when they win a contest to meet their favorite boy band, they discover that life in the spotlight is much more complicated than it looks in the pages of Us Weekly. When Lillian befriends mysterious singer Noah, she’s drawn into a world of jet-setting, paparazzi, and crazed fans.

And speaking of crazed, her father’s new girlfriend Marianne seems to think Lillian is her number-one rival. In the midst of major changes in her family, Lillian’s feelings for Noah bloom into something bigger, but with the gossip mags already spreading rumors, how much longer can she survive under the media microscope?

This is the story of best friends Lillian and Sophie, who are big fans of the UK boys band United Five,  they have a chance to win a contest to go see the boys and personally interview them, they just have to write an essay .  Lillian is a great writer and does the essay, this then leads them to win the contest and they are now on their way to New York to see the band.

Lillian is staying with Sophie as her divorced mother has had to go home to Brazil to look after her grandmother.  And her father now lives in Florida with his new girlfriend who seems to have taken an instant dislike to Lillian.

When they win the contest they head off to New York, when there they are told they have to use the interview questions given and not there own as they want to know more about Noah and his relationships, but when Lillian hears Noah discussing his relationship and how upset he is, she makes the decision not to do as they ask.  After this they become great friends but there is always hardships with long distance relationships, Sophie becomes close with Ollie and Lillian becomes close with Noah.

This was a really good young adult romance by Fernanda Lemos, and hope to see more.
